Rome City Schools Interim Superintendent Dawn Williams has announced that she will retire effective August 31.
Williams said that she made the choice to retire and was not forced into doing so.
It is also noted that the Rome City Board of Education is expected to vote to hire former Rome High School Principal Eric Holland as Superintendent that same day.
