Timothy Brien Jones, 55 of Jasper, was arrested on Ridge Ferry Parkway in Rome this week after he allegedly shoved a police officer during a traffic stop.

Police said that during the stop, Jones refused to give them his name.  While being taken into custody, Jones proceeded to shove the officer.

After arriving at the jail, officers said that they located suspected methamphetamine in his pocket.  Officers also found a glass smoking pipe containing meth residue inside a bag that belonged to him.

Jones is charged with felony obstruction, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, crossing a guard line with drugs and possession of drug related objects.
