Michael Shane Cook, 46 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he broke a window and an air condition unit to a home on Alfred Avenue before attacking a resident with a knife.
Police said that after Cook entered the property he pulled a knife on the victim, placing them in fear of receiving injury.
Cook then proceeded to leave the home with marijuana.
Officers later said that when they saw Cook, he tried to walk away from them in an effort to avoid arret.
Cook is charged with aggravated assault, 2nd degree criminal damage to property, possession of marijuana, two counts of obstruction, driving without insurance and operation of a vehicle without a license plate.
