A teen inmate with a history of violence at the Floyd County Jail, Jakayla Shantell Campbell, 18 of Rome, is facing more charges after she allegedly spat in the face and fought with jail officers.

Reports said that on July 8th, officers were attempting to speak with Campbell about her behavior when she went into a violent rage.

Authorities said that not only did she spit in an officer’s face, but she also headbutted another in their face.

Campbell is now charged with felony obstruction, felony unlawful acts in a penal institution, simple assault and simple battery.

Jakayla Shantell Campbell, 18 of Cave Spring, was arrested this week after reports said she stabbed another person in the shoulder during an altercation at a home on Superba Avenue.

Reports added that the incident occurred in front of an 11 month-old child.

Campbell is charged aggravated assault, cruelty to children in the 1st degree and probation violation.

JaKayla Shantell Campbell, 17 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she left a hand mark and bruises on the buttock of a two year-old child.

Reports said that the child suffered “excessive physical and mental pain”.

Campbell is charged with 1sts degree cruelty to children.
