The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office arrested six young adults and an elderly Rome woman after a raid of a home on Gordon Avenue. The raid came following leads into the shooting murder of 21-year-old Derricus Javez Devonte Smith.

Reports said that Debra Lynn Askew, 61, Chelsie Laniya Mack, 22, Bryson Dorrell Moon, 24, Corey Lashun Chatman Jr, 17, Justin Antonio Glenn, 19, Devon Makai Young, 22, Tyreke Chameron, 24, and 18 year-old Bradley Lashun Chatman were arrested after police found marijuana and a gun inside the home.

Police added that Askew a convicted felon also lied to them about a fugitive that was inside the home.  They stated that when they arrived to serve a warrant she lied to them about the fugitive being inside.

Everyone was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schdule II and IV controlled susbtace and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Askew is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and hindering the apprehension of a criminals.
