Melissa Anne Benton, 46 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she stole services from both Georgia Power and the Floyd County Water Department.
Police said that Benton stole over $9,000 in power usage.
She is also accused of tampering with a water meter in order to steal water. Reports stated that Benton used a garden hose to bypass the water meter and straight pipe the water to her home.
Benton is charged with felony theft of services and misdemeanor theft of services.
