David Brent Dover, 45 of Rome, and Jessica Reene Church, 41 of Rome were jailed this week after they allegedly conspired to travel across state lines to purchase a Lexus for the purpose of using the title to register another car.

Reports added that Dover then fraudulently registered the car to be placed on an insurance policy.

Church is accused of moving the vehicle from Dover’s property in order to conceal evidence. She is also accused of striping the car’s dashboard and door jam VINs, along with any other identifying marks on the car.

Church also allegedly forged a bill of sale for the vehicle and presented it to Rome police.

Dover is charged with insurance fraud and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Church is charged with first degree forgery, tampering with evidence, insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit a felony, acquiring a license plate for the purpose of concealing the identity of a vehicle and buying/selling a vehicle with an altered serial number.
