Justin Dewayne Davis, 36 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he slapped a 13 year-old girl in the face.
Reports added that the victim suffered a visible injury to the right side of her face.
Reports went on to say that the child belonged to the suspect’s girlfriend.
Davis is charged with battery and cruelty to children in the first degree.
