Demetre Eric Miller, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he tried to sell drugs to an off-duty police officer.
Police said that after the off-duty officer contacted another officer, Miller attempted to run from the scene.
After a brief chase on Broad Street, he was captured and allegedly found in possession of marijuana and pills.
Miller is charged with possession/distribution of marijuana, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, attempting to elude police, and a felony failure to appear warrant.
