Jimmy Wesley Parker, 28 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said he hit an arresting officer in the head during an altercation at the Hampton Inn.
Police stated that Parker was banned from the hotel but later returned, ignoring the request to leave.
Officers said that when they arrived on scene Parker became combative and swung at them.
Parker is charged with felony obstruction of police, criminal trespass and probation violation.
