Tiffany D Nekole Watkins, 41, and Marcus Demon Watkins, 43, both of Cedartown, were jailed in Rome after they were allegedly found with drugs and a gun during a DUI checkpoint at the intersection of Cave Spring St and Darlington Drive.
Police stated that a search of the vehicle was conducted after they detected a marijuana odor coming from their car.
The search resulted in them finding two partially burned marijuana blunts, Ecstacy, gabapentin, and a handgun.
Both parties denied ownership of the items.
Both are charged with possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession/distribution of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Watkins is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
