Samuel Keith Maynor, 36 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he physically attacked his elderly mother at a location on Martha Berry Highway.
Reports said that Maynor struck the victim in the head, grabbed her hair and shoved her during the altercation.
Maynor is charged with simple battery.
