Family, friends, coaches and teachers gathered at the Rome High School College and Career Academy on Wednesday February 2, in support of Rome High School senior, Maci Andrews, as she signed on to play softball as a Charger with Georgia Highlands College.

“I am super excited,” Andrews said. “I’ve worked so hard for it. I’m just so grateful for everyone that helped me get to this point.”

Andrews cited her family, her coaches and her teachers as significant sources of support and inspiration for her along the way.

She affirmed that Georgia Highlands College will be a good fit for her.

“It’s super close to home,” she explained. “I’ll get my Associates degree with no debt, and I’ll get playing time to build my skills to the best that I want them to be.”

Andrews expressed her appreciation for all who came out to support her during such a monumental moment, “It just means so much to me that everyone came out today.”
