Samuel Adam Kimbrough, 32 of Plainville, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to steal a police officer’s handcuffs in an attempt to escape capture.
Police said that after pulling Kimbrough over for following a car too closely they discovered that he was driving an unregistered vehicle and was wanted on an active warrant.
Arresting officers went on to say that during the arrest Kimbrough hit them in the face and took off running. He then proceeded to escape the handcuff on his right wrist. Â
The incident occurred at 3132 Maple Road in Lindale.
Kimbrough is charged with battery, theft by taking, escape, interference with government property, felony obstruction, parole violation, following too closely, operation of an unregistered vehicle, driving with a cracked windshield.
