Kenyon Dekota Wilson, 35 of Austell, was arrested in Rome near Shannon Park after reports said he engaged in graphic conversation of a sexual nature with someone he thought to be under the age of 16 years.
Reports added that Wilson also asked the child to send him nude photographs.
While being taken into custody in Rome he was found in possession of cocaine.
Wilson is charged with child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, sexual exploitation of a child, use of a computer to solicit a child to commit a felony, and possession of cocaine.
