Rome police arrested Curtis Eugene Hamilton Jr, 36 of Rome, and Kayla Danielle Padgett, 32 of High Point, NC, after reports said they hit a parked car on Reservoir Street and then proceeded to flee the scene.

Officers said that after locating the vehicle on Shorter Avenue they detected a marijuana odor from inside. A search led police to find marijuana, two glass pipes containing methamphetamine, and two marijuana grinders.

Hamilton is also accused of giving officers a fake name and date of birth.

Both are charged with possession/distribution of marijuana.

Padgett is additionally charged with possession of meth, possession of drug related objects and duty upon striking a unattended vehicle.

Hamilton is additionally charged with giving false information to police and failure to appear.
