David Isaac Coles, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he shoved a woman to the ground then proceeded to jump on her in an effort to choke her.
The victim stated that Coles tried to choke her with his hands.
The incident occurred at a home on Deer Run Tail.
Coles is charged with aggravated battery.
