Polk County Police arrested two individuals, Samuel Fontanez, 57, and Cathy Marie Nelms, 47, this week at the Polk Motel in Rockmart after reports said they helped two juveniles runaway.

Reports said that police were initially notified of the situation by the mother of a 13 year-old who ran away from home in Thomaston.

The child’s mother reported that Fontanez was involved in the case and told police where she had tracked the two to.

Police said that they found Fontanez in his room at the Crown Inn, and he admitted that a 15-year-old male runaway had asked him to go get the 13-year-old from Upson County in the middle of the night, and then dropped the pair off at the Polk Motel at 8 a.m.

Polk County Police made their way to the Polk Motel where they located the two missing juveniles.

The missing 13-year-old was returned to her mother.

The missing 15-year-old has been missing since June.  The teen had been sought by the Department of Family and Children Services.  Officers were asked to take him into custody and transport the young man to the Rome Youth Detention Center.
