Cortez Stanley Benjamin, 55 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he robbed a man after beating him in the head with a padlock that had been placed in a bag.
Police stated that Benjamin stole $80 from the victim.
The incident occurred at 2039 Maple Road.
Benjamin is charged with aggravated assault and robbery.
