Edward Lamar McGregory, 46 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with drugs following an attack of a woman on Walnut Avenue.
Reports said that McGregory hit the victim in the face, leaving a bump on her forehead.
While taking him into custody, police said they located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug related objects on him.
McGregory is charged with battery, possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects.
