The Polk County Police Department arrested Bucky James Smith, 38 of Aragon, this week after he was allegedly found with a stolen Honda CBR motorcycle and methamphetamine.
Reports said that officers were conducting routine patrol around 08:30pm in the area of Wolfe’s Gas Station (Aragon, Georgia), when Corporal Mitchell observed a white Honda CBR motorcycle that matched the description of one that was stolen in Cedartown, Georgia on September 1, 2021.
There was a tall white male subject standing next to the motorcycle, who went inside the store after spotting our marked unit pull into the lot.
Corporal Mitchell ran the tag of the vehicle to ensure that it wasn’t the stolen motorcycle, but the registration came back to another motorcycle entirely.
Corporal Mitchell made contact with the subject inside of the store, who was identified as Smith. Corporal Mitchell identified Mr. Smith due to already having arrest warrants on him.
These warrants had already secured by Corporal Mitchell’s shift from a previous incident.
Due to the proactive patrol of Corporal Mitchell and his shift, we were able to recover a stolen motorcycle, and effect the arrest of a wanted subject without incident.
Smith is charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Affixing a Tag with the Intent to Misrepresent / Conceal, possession of meth, possession of drug related objects and burglary.
