Luis Alberto Chacon, 27, and Christen Julia Ray, 26, both of Rome, were arrested this week after they were found with a pipe bomb inside their vehicle on at Ricks Food Mart on Kingston Highway.

Reports said that the bomb was found after Ray ran up to officers while under the influence of drugs and “acted out in the eye of the public”.   Police added that Ray then refused to listen to officers and refused treatment from EMS.

Police stated that they began to place Ray under arrest and she began to become combative and refused to comply.

While searching her vehicle officers located the explosive device.

Chacon was a passenger in the vehicle.

Officers added that the pipe bomb was confirmed to be explosive.

Both are charged with the manufacture and possession of an explosive device and probation violation.

Ray is additionally charged with public drunk.
