Jimmy Richard Gilbert Jr, 38 of Vienna, turned himself into the Floyd County Jail this week after reports said he assaulted a 10 year-old child.
Police said that Gilbert kicked the child in the stomach and fall into a wall.
Reports went on to say that Gilbert proceeded to throw objects at the child’s mother.
The incident occurred during an altercation with the child’s mother at a home on Adairsville Road.
Gilbert is charged with simple assault, simple battery, cruelty to children in the first degree and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree.
