Roger Dale Gentry, 46 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he broke into a Ford truck and stole a chainsaw, which is valued at $200.
The theft allegedly occurred at Trees Unlimited.
After arriving at the jail, Gentry allegedly kicked and fought with officers causing them not to be able to perform their duties.
Gentry is charged with theft by taking, felony obstruction, simple battery against police, unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, driving no a suspended license, and entering an automobile with the intent to commit a felony.
