Sherry Darlene Ruth, 44 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she whipped a man with a cord.
Reports stated that Ruth struck the victim on his back and right arm, leaving visible red marks.
The incident occurred at a home on Pleasant Valley Road.
Ruth is charged with battery.
