Maurice Brewster, 51 of Rome, was arrested after a traffic stop turned up drugs and the fact that he was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
Report stated that officers observed Brewster swerving in his line of traffic. The officer stated that they then attempted a traffic stop they observed Brewster tossing something out of the driver’s side window. Officers said that they later recovered suspected marijuana where the item was tossed.
Officers added that they also recovered an open beer bottle from the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
Brewster is charged with DUI, open container violation, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain Lane, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence.
