James Edward Knox, 22 of Cartersville, and McTavious Tyshawn Gadison, 19 of Cleveland, MS, were jailed on drug and weapon charges after a traffic stop at the intersection of Rome and Cemetery Roads.
Police stated that they stopped Gadison for driving on an expired tag. After pulling over it was determined that he was also driving without a valid driver’s license.
A k9 officer then altered on the vehicle, resulting in a search that led police to find marijuana and Glock pistol.
Police stated that Knox was a passenger in the vehicle and had access to both the drugs and handgun.
Both are charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Gadison is charged with driving while unlicensed and operation of unregistered vehicle.
