A 29 year-old Rome man, Dorian Donte Johnson, was arrested this week after reports said he beat a pregnant woman and then led police on a chase.

Reports stated that back on February 7th of this year Johnson allegedly hit the victim in the face, causing injuries to her lip and eye.

This week when officers spotted Johnson on Martha Berry Blvd they attempted to pull him over.  After first refusing to stop he eventually turned into a parking lot where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

A k9 officer was called and he was captured a short time later. A search of Johnson’s car led police to recover several bags of suspected methamphetamine.

Johnson is charged with battery, two counts possession of meth, fleeing, obstruction and no tag light.
