Derek Andrew Dover, 33 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he shoved a woman to the ground in order to prevent her from getting a set of car keys.
Reports added that the victim suffered a cut and bruise to her nose as the result of the attack.
The incident occurred at a home on Wynnie Road.
Dover is charged with simple battery.
