Adam Lance Compton, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly ran from police and then attempted to elbow the officer in the face.
Reports said that police was dispatched to Redwood Street in response to Compton attempting to fight his neighbor. When the officer arrived Compton ran from the scene and refused commands to stop. Police added that when they grabbed Compton by the shoulder he turned around and attempted to elbow him in the face.
After being taken to the ground police discovered that Compton was highly intoxicated.
Compton is charged with felony obstruction, simple battery against a police officer, public drunk and probation violation.
