Randy Scott Shanks, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he placed a pillow over the head of a 29 year-old woman before punching her numerous times. Reports added that he proceeded to get a knife and hold it to her throat while stating that he was going to kill her.
That same day is he accused of grabbing the woman in a choke hold to the point she could no longer breath.
The incident occurred at a home on Turners Bend Road back on July 25 of this year.
While being taken into custody he was found in possession of a bag of methamphetamine.
Shanks is charged with two counts aggravated assault, battery, possession of meth and terroistic threats and acts.
