A Cedartown man and a Rockmart man are both under arrest and detectives are still combing through evidence after they conducted search warrants on properties in the area.

According to a post on the Polk County Police website verified by an official in the department, police executed the search warrants today and took possession of several digital devices from the two men involved in the sexual exploitation of children.

“The execution of these search warrants were a culmination of an extensive investigation that included several law enforcement agencies. There were over one hundred and fifty (150) images of child pornography that were recovered in this investigation,” the post stated.

Dennis Wolfe, 25, of Cedartown and Wesley Sanders, 23, of Rockmart were both taken into custody following the searches.

“We are thankful to have dedicated investigators/officers who sacrifice time away from home to ensure the safety of our community,” the post stated. “We would like to thank the following agencies: Rockmart Police Department, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the ICAC Task Force.”

According to the official who verified the arrests, additional charges may be pending after police comb through the rest of the evidence.

Sanders faces 163 counts of sexual exploitation of children – possess or control any material depicting minor in sexually explicit manner. He was also charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Wolfe was jailed on six counts sexual exploitation of children – possess or control any material depicting minor in sexually explicit manner.
