Eric Carl Virta, 27 of Rome, was arrested on North Broad Street this week after he allegedly ran in an effort to avoid arrest on a probation violation warrant.
Reports said that once captured he was found in possession of three bags of marijuana that was packed for resale and numerous Xanax pills.
Virta is charged with possession of marijuana, distribution or sale of marijuana, two counts obstruction, possession of a schedule IV substance and two counts probation violation.
