Charles Lynn Whitten, 23 of Rome, and Gail Patricia Bennett, 37 of Rome, were arrested this week after reports said they went through a woman’s purse and stole $300
The incident occurred at the BP gas station on Alabama Highway.
Both are charged with theft by taking mislaid property.
