Donte Lamont Dupree, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he best a woman with a stick at his home on Holiday Drive.
Reports said that the victim suffered multiple injuries to her nose and face.
While being taken into custody he was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine, a glass smoking device and a scale.
He is also accused of giving police a fake name while being questioned.
Dupree is charged with aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine, aggravated battery, battery, giving false information to police, and possession of drug related objects.
