Ashton Jamal Poellinitz, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he shoved a woman into a closet door before knocking her in the ground and beating her in the face with his fist.
The victim went on to say that Poellinitz placed his hands around the victims neck and proceeded to choke her.
Reports said that the incident occurred at an apartment on Dodd Blvd.
Poellinitz is charged with battery, aggravated assault and criminal trespass.
