Ronnie William Barker, 36 of Lindale, has been arrested and charged with a wreck that led to the death of two innocent people.
Reports said that Barker crossed the center line and struck a vehicle head one. Killed in the wreck were 52 year-old Valerie Watts and her 18 year-old son Antwan Maleek Jamerson, both of Shannon. A third person in the vehicle survived.
Reports added that during the course of the investigation a quantity of methamphetamine was located in his possession.
Barker was driving a F-350 belonging to WC Timber company.
Barker is charged with two counts homicide by vehicle in the 2nd degree, failure to maintain lane and possession of methamphetamine.

Two people were pronounced dead on scene Tuesday afternoon following a two vehicle collision on Redmond Circle. The victims have been identified as 52 year-old Valerie Watts and her 18 year-old son Antwan Maleek Jamerson, both of Shannon. The third person in the vehicle, Watts’ husband, 49-year old Thomas Watts, , was transported to a local hospital where he is currently being treated.
Reports said that Valerie Watts was driving, Thomas was in the passenger seat and Antwan was riding in the back seat.
The driver of the F350, Ronnie Barker, age 36 of Lindale, who was not injured.

According to Rome Police Sgt. Brandon Pledger, a northbound F-350, belonging to WC Timber, crossed the center line and struck a southbound G-series Infinity car head-on. The Infinity had Alabama tags.
One person was trapped in the vehicle for nearly an hour following the wreck.
The Infinity rolled and was set ablaze.
A dog in the Infinity was also killed in the accident.
The driver of the F-350 was “ok” according to Pledger.
Charges are pending following the conclusion of a crime scene reconstruction done by the GBI.
Both lanes were closed for several hours.
