Carlos Correa Jr, 47 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attacked a woman and her child at a home on Woods Road.
Reports said that Correa grabbed the woman by the face in an aggressive manner in front of two small children. Correa then prevented the victim from calling 911 for help.
He is also accused of throwing a cell phone and hitting a 13 year-old in the face. The child suffered a knot to his forehead.
Correa is charged with simple battery, obstruction of a person making an emergency call, first degree cruelty to children and two counts cruelty to children.
