Patricia Ann McPherson, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she slapped a 5 year-old child in the face leaving a visible hand print.
The incident occurred between February 27 and 28th at a home on Burnett Ferry Road.
McPherson is charged with battery and cruelty to children.
