Billy Joe Chambers II, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he caused physical harm to a woman when he hit her in the face.
The incident, which occurred in front of a child, occurred at a home on Marshall Lane.
Chambers is charged with simple battery, cruelty to children and probation violation.
