Briget Alexis Niles, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after she allegedly hit a woman who was holding her small child.
Reports said that Niles struck the woman in the face.
The incident occurred at a location on West Callahan Street.
Niles is charged with battery and cruelty to children.
