James Brick Edwards, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he made a false report to police.
Police stated that Edwards lied about an unspecified crime.
He is also accused of stealing a cellphone from a woman/
Edwards is charged with theft by taking, unlawful conduct during a 911 call, and obstruction of law enforcement.
