The Rome Police Department has launched an investigation into the theft of close to $10,000 worth of copper wire that was taken from the old Rome-Floyd Recycling Center on Watters Street.
Reports stated that someone broke into the building and stole the wire out of electrical panels sometime over Independence Day weekend.
Police added that three men sold a large amount of copper wire for $600 at another recycling center on Monday.
