Alejandro Jacobo-Conteras, 29 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he choked out his wife to the point she could not breath.
Reports added that he then threw an Ipad case at her face, which caused an injury.
The incident occurred in front of their two children.
Jacobo-Contreras is charged with aggravated assault, simple battery and cruelty to children.
