Ronnie Eugene Sharp, 63 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he presented a forged state document to officers in an attempt to defraud the state of tax revenue.
Reports said that the traffic stop occurred at the intersection of GA 20 and Turner Bend Road.
Sharp is charged with first degree forgery.
