James David Davis, of Rome, 29 of Rome, was arrested at a home on 1st Street this week after he allegedly used an open hand to hit the woman in the face, which resulted in physical injury to her mouth.
A search of Davis led police to find suspected steroids and marijuana.
Davis is charged with simple battery, possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule III controlled substance.
