Rome Woman Tries to Escape Floyd County Jail, Hits Officers

Courtney Michelle Tincher, 29 of Rome, is facing additional charges after deputies said she attacked them while trying to escape.

Reports said that Tincher obstructed her block door while being placed in her cell and then proceeded to run from the area, ignoring verbal commands to stop.

Reports added that she then proceeded to hit two officers in the face in head with the intent to cause physical pain.

Tincher has been housed at the Floyd County Jail since January 7^th on charges of felony criminal damage to property.

She is now charged with escape and two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer.

Courtney Michelle Tincher, 29 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she destroyed another’s fence on Fir Street.

Reports stated that Tincher allegedly caused over $1,000 in damage to the fence.

She is charged with felony criminal damage to property.
