A Rome man, Demonte Devone Jones, 25, was arrested this week after allegedly leading police on a chase following his attack on a woman.
Reports stated that Jones placed his hands on the chest of a 23 year-old woman and shoved her into a wall in front of the woman’s children.
They went on to say that he then punched a hole in the wall of the home. The victim added that Jones attempted to hit her, but missed.
He proceeded to take the woman’s cellphone before leaving the home.
It was then police said that after spotting Jones and attempting to pull him over he ignored lights and sirens to stop while passing numerous vehicles on double lines.
Jones is charged with simple battery, two counts cruelty to children, criminal trespass, theft by taking, simple assault, driving without license, passing in a no pass zone, and fleeing.
