Edwin Antonio Sequen, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he choked a 31 year-old woman at her home on Brookstone Road.
Reports added that Sequen then proceeded to maliciously squeeze the hand of a 10 year-old child who witnessed the attack.
Sequen is charged with aggravated assault, 1st degree cruelty to children and 3rd degree cruelty to children.
