Jacob Leif Hammett, 26 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after he allegedly hit his mother in front of a small child.
Reports said that Hammett also threw a can of Cream of Chicken Soup at a bedroom door before attempting to kick it open in order to get to a child.
Officers added that Hammett refused officers commands to put his beer down and place his hands to where they could see them.
Hammett is charged with simple battery, cruelty to children, criminal trespass and obstruction.
